Our research is driven to develop environment-friendly applications for polymers. We work in two main themes:
1) making polymer degrade less, with a longer useful life. For this purpose we work mainly on: deposition by plasma of organosilicon thin films , and on renewable stabilizers for polymers.
2) Recently we engaged in the research with alginate hydrogels, working it as a template for metallic oxide synthesis, freeze-casting it, and making a pH-triggered system to release chemicals in neutral pH. If you are interested in our themes or feel we can collaborate, contact us!

Telling about the problem for future engineers

Prof. Dr. Andreza Scatigno invited me and I gave a seminar in the Engineering Week about Microplastics. It was amazing!!!

Viva of André Luiz Teixeira

04/03/2017

Viva is the event where students defend their findings with their peers. The word comes from the Latin "viva voce", which means "by live voice". Today was the Viva of André Luiz Teixeira, and I had the honor to make part of the assessment board. The adviser was Profa. Jane Maria Faulstich de Paiva (UFSCar - Federal University of São Carlos) and was about composites made of polyethylene and industrial residues of expanded polyurethane, showing some outstanding results for this original material. Congratulations!
